Atmospheres is a piece that utilizes numbers generated from my wonkymodes max patch to both generate sound and process video in real time. Because these numbers are randomly generated, each performance will be similar, but slightly different. To perform this piece, the performer needs to be able to display the video on a seperate screen from the one they are looking at. They will then live-mix the five different voices of audio as they see fit, bringing in and out different timbres generated with various waveforms and modulation types. The goal was to create a unique, psychedelic atmosphere that is inspired by, but unlike anything on Earth.
The video begins and ends with the same image as a que to the performer that they are done with the performance. When complete, they should slowly fade out the audio.
This video contains flashing lights and colors, If you are sensitive to these kinds of materials, please use discretion when viewing a performance.
All original videos were obtained from Vidveo.net.
