How Much Rehearsal could a conductor conduct if a conductor could conduct rehearsal?

This piece is more concept art than something to actually be performed. (Although I wouldn't object to seeing a serious interpretation.) It features a solo conductor with a stage set up for a large ensemble, but is empty. The score indicates patterns and tempi for the conductor to move through, as well as where to place the emphasis and occasionally emphasize the tempo to the non-existent instrumentalists.
