String Orchestra

My first work as a graduate student at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. ForS., pronounced 'Force' is a short orchestral work inspired by the rising sun. The melodic material begins in the lower instruments, and is very chromatic. Over the course of the composition, the material gradually opens up into more consonant and traditional harmonic language. Written between 9/4 and 9/13/2017. Dedicated in loving memory of Susan Myers 2/21/1957-9/11/2017
