Piri and Cello
This short duo was written as an exercise in shifting focus and timbres between two different instruments, as well as for me to become slightly more familiar with the reed instruments of South Korea. I later revised the piece in order to increase the difficulty and overall enjoyment for the listener. My goal for the composition was to have the instrument begin on a unison note, slowly drift apart, and then return together. As an interesting, non-musical tidbit, this is the first piece I completed after the creation of MaBMusic, my self-publishing label, and the first score to automatically include that label. All previous scores had to have the label added before their distribution for performance.
