S

I have been working out all of my systems and drafts for a few weeks now and have finally started to pencil in parts of the score for this piece. I don’t know if it will be my thesis work, but I plan on spending a good amount of time with it to tweak everything as much as I can before submitting it to the ICA’s contest in December. (I will also be working on a few smaller things to please my professors at school, but this is the main one)  

The piece is called ‘S’ which is representative of entropy in a thermodynamic system. Over its 15 minute duration I explore the buildup, breaking, and decay of the clarinet’s timbral components. 

Even if if it is not selected by the ICA, I hope to have this performed as part of my graduation recital next spring.
