Projects are underway

I am making progress on my first two projects of the year. 

The first being Thoughts for intermediate level a capella choir. I am working out exactly where I want the blending of aleatoric and notated sounds as well as come funky chord progressions for the unison areas. This is also my first piece using Sibelius and I am slowly getting the hang of it. I plan to have a score up in about 2 weeks.

The second is for Convergence for wind ensemble, and it is shaping up to be something surprisingly difficult, but rewarding if it gets pulled off. my goal is to have several groups playing motives occurring at different speeds to create a multi-layered, polyrhythmic set of duets that finally meshes up at the climax of the piece. It will involve a lot of counting, but should be fun. 

Hopefully I can get both pieces performed this semester. I just need to find vocalists for Thoughts and the piece needs to be selected for the Composer's Wind Ensemble concert later this semester.
